Breakthrough Cancer Research Video Feature: Yingru Zhou

What if cancer treatment could be delivered more precisely, directly to the cells that need it most?
Yingru Zhou, PhD researcher at Dublin City University and working on Pancreatic Cancer, is developing innovative approaches to drug delivery, funded by Breakthrough Cancer Research and Research Ireland.
Her research focuses on carbon-based nanomaterials, designed to carry therapeutic drugs into cells with greater precision.
🔬In this research, Yingru is: • Designing and modifying carbon-based nanomaterials for biomedical use • Enabling targeted delivery of drugs directly into cancer cells • Exploring ways to make treatments safer and more effective for people with pancreatic cancer
By improving how drugs are delivered in the body, this research aims to reduce side effects and increase the effectiveness of treatment.
This work is helping to advance research into new, better, smarter, kinder and more effective ways to treat pancreatic cancer.
