Welcome Dr. Riccardo Ossanna!
We are delighted to welcome Riccardo Ossanna as a Postdoctoral Researcher, supported by the Research Ireland Frontiers for the Future award.
Riccardo obtained his BSc and MSc in Chemistry from the University of Trieste (Italy) in 2019 and 2022. During his Master’s thesis, where he synthesized libraries of functionalized gold nanoparticles to modulate immune responses, he developed a strong passion for organic chemistry and nanomedicine. He then completed his PhD in Chemistry at Université Paris-Saclay (France) in 2025. His doctoral research focused on the design and synthesis of photoacoustically active fluorophores for the development of biocompatible and biodegradable smart probes for biomedical applications.
In our group, Riccardo will focus on the synthesis of fluorophores and the functionalization of carbon nanoparticles for biomedical applications. His expertise in organic chemistry and molecular design will be a fantastic addition to the team.
We look forward to supporting Riccardo during his postdoctoral journey and to the exciting science ahead.
Welcome to the team, Riccardo!
