ANSA English: Italy honors Silvia Giordani, engaged in anti-cancer chemical research in Dublin

Professor Silvia Giordani has been awarded the title Ufficiale dell’Ordine al Merito della Repubblica Italiana, one of Italy’s highest civilian honours, in recognition of her outstanding contributions and international impact.
The prestigious award was formally conferred in June 2025 and presented at a ceremony held at the Italian Embassy in Dublin by H.E. Nicola Faganello, Italian Ambassador to Ireland, on behalf of President of Italy Sergio Mattarella. The achievement was also featured on ANSA.it News, highlighting Professor Giordani’s global recognition.
Established in 1951, the Ordine al Merito della Repubblica Italiana is the highest ranking Italian order of merit and recognises individuals for exceptional achievements across a wide range of fields, including science, literature, the arts, the economy, public service, and social, philanthropic, and humanitarian activities.
