Welcome Diego A. Acevedo Guzman!

We warmly welcome Diego A. Acevedo Guzman to the team as a Research Ireland and DCU co-funded postdoctoral researcher. Diego earned a double PhD in 2024 from the University of Groningen in the Netherlands and the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México in Mexico. He has a strong background and research experience in carbon nanomaterials and joins us to advance his work. His research will focus on the light activation of carbon dots for photodynamic therapy and drug release in pancreatic cancer, under the supervision of Professor Silvia Giordani. His expertise in surface science and chemistry of carbon nanomaterials makes him a valuable addition to our research group and the science community.
