Professor Silvia Giordani awarded the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic with the rank of Officer (Ufficiale)

We are tremendously delighted and proud to share that our group leader, Prof. Silvia Giordani, has been awarded the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic (Ordine al Merito della Repubblica Italiana, OMRI), with the rank of Officer (Ufficiale).
The OMRI is Italy’s highest civilian honour, established to acknowledge outstanding merit in the fields of science, literature, the arts, economics, public service, and humanitarian endeavours. It is conferred by the President of the Italian Republic upon the proposal of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers. The distinction recognises individuals whose work has made a significant contribution to the advancement of society and the prestige of Italy in the world.
The honour was officially conferred to Prof. Giordani on 2 June 2025, and the ceremony will take place in 2026.
In her personal reflections on this honour, Prof. Giordani expressed deep gratitude to her family, colleagues, students, and collaborators, emphasising that this recognition reflects not only her own dedication but also the shared commitment of all those who have supported her throughout her career.
