Welcome Manikrishna Lakavathu!

We are thrilled to welcome Manikrishna Lakavathu to the team as a Research Ireland and DCU co-funded PhD student. Manikrishna graduated in 2025 from IISER Thiruvananthapuram, India, with a BS-MS (Integrated Master’s) degree in Chemistry. He brings strong research experience in biomaterials and nanoplatforms, and joins us here in Dublin to continue his journey in targeted therapeutic delivery.

Manikrishna’s PhD research will focus on the bio-inspired functionalisation of nanoplatforms for targeted delivery of therapeutics, under the supervision of Professor Silvia Giordani. His background in advanced biomaterials, cell culture, and nanomaterials synthesis, along with a passion for innovative cancer therapeutics, make him a highly promising addition to our research group and scientific community.
