Wanting earned her BE in Macromolecular Materials and Engineering from Beijing Technology and Business University (BTBU) in 2019, followed by an MSc in Nanomaterials Chemistry from University College Dublin (UCD) in 2020. During her Master’s research, she focused on optimizing the synthesis and functionalization of magnetic multi-core nanoparticles.
She continued her doctoral research at UCD within the Centre for BioNano Interactions (CBNI), where she was awarded her PhD in 2025. Her doctoral thesis investigated the intracellular pathways of cell-derived nanoparticles, leveraging multimodal imaging techniques to visualize complex nano-bio interactions. Wanting’s background encompasses the synthesis and functionalization of advanced nanomaterials alongside their rigorous evaluation in in vitro biological models.
Most recently, as a Research Assistant at UCD, Wanting applied her expertise in super-resolution microscopy to investigate the interactions between nanomaterials and cellular pathways.
