Rukayat is a final-year undergraduate student studying Chemical and Pharmaceutical Sciences in Dublin City University and she is working within the Giordani Research Group.  Her research focuses on the synthesis and characterisation of carbon-based nanomaterials, using a range of analytical and spectroscopic techniques to examine their physicochemical properties. Her work is conducted under the supervision of Prof. Silvia Giordani. Her interests include nanomaterials, biomedical applications, organic synthesis, nanomedicine and supramolecular chemistry."
