Riccardo Ossanna

Riccardo Ossanna

Potdoctoral Researcher

Riccardo is currently a postdoctoral researcher in the group of prof. Silvia Giordani at Dublin City University, supported by the program SFI frontiers for the Future grant.

Riccardo obtained his BSc and MSc in Chemistry from the University of Trieste (Italy) in 2019 and 2022 respectively. Thanks to his Master’s thesis, during which he synthesized libraries of functionalized gold nanoparticles to modulate immune responses, he developed a passion for organic chemistry and nanomedicine. He then pursued a PhD in Chemistry at Université Paris-Saclay (France), being awarded the title in 2025. His doctoral research focused on the design and synthesis of photoacoustically active fluorophores for the development of biocompatible and biodegradable smart probes for biomedical applications. Currently his research interests involve the synthesis and functionalization of carbon nanoparticles for biological applications.
