Merrella is currently a 4th year undergraduate student studying Chemical and Pharmaceutical Sciences in Dublin City University (DCU). She is conducting her final year research project (Synthesis of aza-BODIPY derivatives) under the supervision of Prof. Silvia Giordani. Her research interests include organic chemistry, nanomedicine and supramolecular chemistry, and investigating cancer therapies.
