The Giordani Group Shines at the World Conference on Carbon 2025!

The Giordani Group was proud to take part in the World Conference on Carbon 2025—a vibrant global forum celebrating the latest in carbon research and innovation.

Each year, leading scientists from academia and industry gather to exchange insights on carbon materials, exploring everything from synthesis methods to advanced applications, characterisation, and fundamental properties.

The 2025 edition was held in Saint-Malo, Brittany (France) from June 29 to July 4, co-organised by the Société Francophone d’Étude des Carbones (SFEC) and the University of Rennes, on behalf of the European Carbon Association (ECA).

Prof. Silvia Giordani opened Session: Topic 1 – Carbon & Biology, Medicine, Safety on June 30 with a captivating keynote presentation titled “Carbon Nano-Onions for Targeted Drug Delivery,” which drew great interest from attendees.

Later in the same session, on July 2, PhD candidate Hugh Mohan delivered an excellent oral presentation on “B/N-Doped Carbon Nano-Onions as Nanocarriers for Targeted Breast Cancer Therapy,” earning the Best Oral Presentation Award by a PhD Researcher—a well-deserved recognition of his outstanding work.
